Vocational Tailoring Centres

- Established in 1995, three Vocational Tailoring Centres for poor female villagers to address the lack of job opportunities and training facilities in the region. The project offers a variety of vocational workshops, focusing on machine knitting, sewing, embroidery and framing. 20 women are taking part in a 8 months tailoring training session, which will enable them to develop the practical skills needed to earn a living. The Centres help women become financially independent. They train their partners in sewing and other techniques, management and promotional skills and product development. We have organized 8 training sessions, 160 women have already received intensive training in sewing, embroidery and handicrafts. Every year, when the training course has ended, many of them have found jobs. The thread of embroidery sews dreams into reality, the dreams of women eager to forge an identity and achieve independence in their lives.

- Every year we assist local efforts to relieve the victims of various natural disasters and help them get back to normal life.

Loving Homes for Homeless Elderly People

Homeless older Vienamese have self-reported higher rates of physical and mental health problems, including hypertension, shortness of breath, diabetes, chest pains, depression, sadness, and loneliness. Established in 1995 in Danang and An Khe (Gia Rai), our two Loving Homes have sought to increase health care providers’ (HCP) awareness and understanding of homeless or similarly marginalised individuals' end-of-life (EOL) experiences and treatment preferences. 35 homeless elderly people aged 85 and over may encounter various barriers to obtaining quality EOL care. Relationship care is characterised by compassion and respectful, two-way communication.
