Welcome![]() ![]() where applicable I have included pictures as much as possible. I also have a section for my other Audi's, basically just documents the progress of how I got with the whole Audi stuff. The first Audi of course was a type44 model. I think by now I must have owned just above any version available as a type44 model including the newest A V8. Of course I also enjoy the 80's 90's even 4000 series but my heart falls every time for a type44. Since this is a project car I also thought I
would show what cars I had done previously, none of my So on to some History, the C3 platform also
known as type 44 chassis started production in late 1981, The 100 was also produced In South Africa but as a simple model (no Quattro's were available ). The Audi 400, (1.8 4 cyl. carburetor) was the most simple of models their. The 500, 500E & 500SE came with the 2.2 5cyl with the K-jetronic. the 500 type 44 series lasted until 1992 in South Africa aside from maybe a higher ride height these cars were pretty much like the Euro versions. The C4's were later introduced and also carried the same 500, 500E & 500se going for the v6 models. As some may know the type 44 chassis had some similarity to the "Passat / (US - quantum ) platform which was actually based on the B2 platform (audi 4000, 80, 90, coupe). Anyway the passat chassis was and is built also in Brazil and China this car is called the SANTANA and comes in sedan or wagon model. The Santana has similarities in chassis to the type44 except for some changes on the front sub-frame and the under chassis. I hope to have more details on this as time progresses. On the FAW (see FAW pages) site you can get more links to that as well. Stranger than strange in Brazil there was a 2 door version of the Santana (Quantum) built for several years I am currently trying to round up some pictures of this car as this can bring some interesting details into building a type44 2 door coupe. another wacky idea I had.

| PROJECT T44 | PAST PROJECTS | MY OTHER AUDIS | FAW | MY BUSINESS | designed by: paulfern quattro-nation, is not in any way related or associated with Audi Gmbh, Quattro Gmbh or Audi of North America or any of it's affiliates around the globe, but if I had something to say about it I would surely bring the type 44 back in grand style.
